College Addresses and other schtuff
hey kidz,
So as I've mentioned before, I'm the Public Relations/ College (in
canadian lingo-University) Rep. for New York University's IMF (Independent
Music Fest) Okay so what I want to know is if any of you out there at
Canadian colleges are planning on coming down for this thing or would be
interested in coming down. In the US we have something called NACA
(National Association of College Activities) that pays for us to go to
other parts of the country to check out other schools programs to get
ideas for our own schools. So I was wondering if any of your schools do
the same. If so, or if your just generally interested in coming to NYC
for 3 days of fun filled indie music, e-mail me your school's Program
Board address and I'll get the info packets out to you asap.
***as an added incentive there will be at least 10 really awesome Canadian
bands playing (*think Cinnamon Toast, Murderecords, Sonic Unyon and Mint*)
On another note, does anyone know when this Thrush Hermit EP on
Elektra comes out? Has it or will it come out before the full length album
(which is really amazing by the way!) Of the people who have heard the
new album we should start discussing it. I'll start the conversation
by saying "Without You" is got to be one of my favorite Thrush Hermit
songs of all time.(not a great statement of substance but hey I've been
writing another review for the last 3 hours and I've spent all my
creativity on that article)
Also Sloan is playing NYC next Saturday 2/8 with Fountains of
Wayne at Tramps. This should be interesting. :P Anybody elso going to
that show (of the whole 2 of you in this area along with me)
