getting bands to play...
Ok, in my city (Chatham, pop. 50 000, an hour from London and
Windsor, Ontario) there's never any good bands that play....by that i mean
bands like Sloan and other bands who write good 'pop' songs.....since no one
seems in any hurry to change this, i'd like to get some info on how much it
costs to get a band (like Sloan) to play here...i realize they wouldn't just
drive out here for one show and go home so they'd have to have dates already
booked at other places, but.....if anyone has ever managed/organized any
sort of 'bash' or whatever, let me know how much you had to pay and how you
contacted, please....other bands i'm interested in are Our Lady Peace, Grace
Babies, Pure, Killjoys, Starkicker and a lot of east coast bands who i doubt
would come here just for one show....so, any info/advice would be greatly
appreciated....i would really like to have some sort of 'fest' (ie,
Edgefest, EDENfest) with strictly Canadian bands sometime in the summer,
so.....just a one day thing, though....i wouldn't mind it if i even didn't
make any money, so long as i got to see all the bands play....thanks again....
