Re: Jay F. on MM

NO NO you got it all wrong, all so very wrong! That was one heck of an evil
shirt he was wearing and after I tell you why I hope you believe the same
and join my boycott of Pepsi... if you don't give a crap about this then
shame on you but at least scoll to the bottom to find out about the Zine
Scene Mailing list.
Jay should not be wearing that shirt, so don't go out running to
fill your freezers with that blood just because he was wearing a pepsi shirt
just like everyone did with the PUMAS they wear (I am guilty of that).
Pepsi is an evil corparation that is exploting the country of Burma
and are keeping the dictorship there in power. In 1988 there was a huge
Democracy rally in the capital city of Burma, Rangoon led by the Nobel Peace
award winner Aung Sahn Sue Kyi (sp). The dictatorship was beginning to
become frightened by the power of the democracy movement and ordered there
troops to open fire on the ralliers killing tens of thousands of protestors
for no better reason for wanting a better life. To this day the Dictorship
is still in power and still torturing, raping and murdering pro-democracy
advocates.
What does this have to do with Pepsi you say. Simple, Pepsi has
invested Heavily in Burma hoping to make quick money off of the
situation(ie. dismal wages, smaller taxes) Pepsi is tied in with the
murderous dictatorship. The Money that Pepsi Pumps into the country mostly
goes toward the goverment. 7 out of 10 cents of the goverment goes to the
army. Groups believe that if we boycott Pepsi along with all other
companies that do business there the Dictatorship will fall with out the
outside money. Most other companies have moved out the only one that still
does business in Canada is Pepsi. In the states there are other companies
like Texico, I can't remember the others. Pepsi also owns Pizza Hut, Taco
Bell, KFC, Liptons, Frito Lay chips and others... if you really care you can
check on the web as there are many sites dedicated to the cause.
It is hard to boycott but we all should try As the money from your
Pepsi goes to Pepsi Corp. to the Burmese Goverment through taxes and such to
the army to the puchasing of a bullet used to murder a innocent Burmese
civilian dead. Think of it that way and it makes it easier to boycott. It
is good knowing that you are making a difference in this world so please
join this boycott
Why did I write this? Maybe it was because of my deep belief it what
I'm doing, maybe it is because I've been annoyed by the persons tag DRINK
PEPSI (sorry man) or maybe it is just because I watched Pump up the Volume
last night (a very good movie). Oh well.. All I care about is that you care
enough to care about the world and start boycotting Pepsi. If you want more
info on what is happening there I could set you up with more info or you
could watch the movie Beyond Rangoon or you could do both.
