elevator show.

"went to see you for the third time, what a time..."

a brief history of elevator to hell, in stages:

rick white solo project -- the elevator to hell 12"
record contains a lot of stuff that sounds like demos
for eric's trip songs. it's quite stripped-down and
intimate sounding.

full-fledged band status -- you can hear elevator to
hell, the band, on the sappy 7". very full sound
thanks in part to keyboard stuff by ron bates.

stripped-down blues-rock band -- stage #3 of ETH
made its debut at birdland last night. the lineup
was rick, tara, and mark. rick was doing a lot more
solo stuff than what he did in eric's trip. the
band now features both a pared-down lineup and a
pared-down sound, compared to what people saw at
the pop explosion. compared to ET, it's much
bluesier. the songs aren't all particularly good
yet but they have a great sound. i hope rick
keeps pushing things in this new direction. even
if the delay effects make his guitar playing sound
like the edge. :-) it's also interesting to note
that rick is doing less mopey-voice singing and
more full-on screaming. :-)
