ARTS CENTRE PROPOSAL FOR KHYBER BUILDING: A group of young artists calling
themselves the Arts Centre Project Society made a pitch to Halifax aldermen
Wednesday. They have asked the city to hand over the Barrington Street
Khyber Building for $1 a year for five years. The group wants to turn the
building into an arts centre. The city has only received a few offers for
the building since it began trying to sell it last October. DAILY NEWS P35
